EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

MonstrARTity is currently seeking applicants for two positions: a Program Consultant and a PR & Marketing Consultant with availability from September 5, 2017.

  • Part-time: 20-30 hours/week
  • Term: 1 year independent contractor position (3-month probation) with opportunity for extension
  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience and track record
  • Must be able to make team meetings, events and stakeholder meetings in the GTA as required and have access to own laptop

 

PR & Marketing Consultant

DUTIES
Traditional Media/PR

  • Developing and executing organization’s marketing, paid media and advertising strategy, leading up to and during festival events and across year-round programs
  • Analyzing marketing and audience data from past events and campaigns to shape and inform strategy for 2018 season
  • Crafting communication materials (press releases, event profiles, website content etc) on behalf of organization and associated events
  • Building and maintaining relationships with media, sponsors, politicians, community figures and community partners
  • Overseeing local, provincial and national marketing budget according to funding and grant restrictions, including media sponsorships, advertising buys, printed design collateral, traditional media campaigns etc
  • Relationships or familiarity with local, national and international media outlets an asset

Social Media/Other Support

  • Collaborating with the internal social media team to support a strong digital strategy through paid and organic campaigns and advertising (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google Ads) leading up to festival events and across year-round programs
  • Co-managing a team of summer student positions during the 4-month festival season
  • Additional supporting activities to benefit the overall team as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in Public Relations, Marketing, Event Management or a related field; and/or at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven track record of securing editorial coverage in traditional and digital media outlets required
  • Experience with tracking media impressions strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with media/advertising buying an asset
  • Proficiency in Google applications (Google Docs, Drive, etc) and Dropbox
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and initiative
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing a team ideal, but not required
  • Valid G or G2 driver’s license and access to vehicle suggested, but not required

 

 
 
 

Program Consultant

DUTIES
Festival Off-Season

  • Ensuring smooth administrative execution and growth of MAY school program and MAD mentorship program
  • Liaising with artists, school teachers, venue coordinators and other program contacts as necessary
  • Managing cross-promotional agreements and event programming logistics with external curators and community partner organizations, leading up to BMM and MRO festival season
  • Managing intake forms and processes for interviewing/onboarding new applicants to the organization (artists, interns, contractors) and handling general inquires from the public
  • Building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, City staff, and performing artists
  • Proactively maintaining databases of key stakeholders and participants
  • Gathering feedback from key stakeholders and audience surveys to recommend improvements

Festival Season

  • Maintaining communication and coordination between Artistic Director, Technical Director, internal production team and marketing team, artists and community partner organizations
  • Ensuring smooth coordination and execution of BMM festival & VIP reception logistics and MRO festival logistics (programming, production and partner relationships)
  • On-site management and liaison at VIP receptions and festival events
  • Building and maintaining relationships as first point of contact for artists, community partners, City staff and festival vendors
  • Collaborating with the internal production team to support program content and technical production coordination, leading up to festival events
  • Co-managing a team of summer student positions for a 4-month period
  • Additional supporting activities to benefit the overall team as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in Arts Administration, Event Management, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations or a related field; and/or at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven track record of executing and growing arts-based programs
  • Proficiency in Google applications (Google Docs, Drive, etc) and Dropbox
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and initiative
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing a team ideal, but not required
