MonstrARTity is currently seeking applicants for four Programming Consultant projects:

1. Bollywood Monster Mashup (BMM), the largest South Asian festival in Canada;

2. Monster Rock Orchestra (MRO), an award-winning show combining hit music with a live orchestra and laser show

3. Monster Arts for Youth (MAY), a multidisciplinary workshop program with a focus in South Asian arts, provided within Peel Region schools

4. Monster Artist Development (MAD) program, which pairs emerging youth artists with experienced artists and music industry experts to provide mentorship, business skills, media training, and a support network.

with availability from January 9, 2018.

MonstrARTity Creative Community (MCC) is a Mississauga-based, not-for-profit arts organization that consistently entertains tens of thousands with its original, innovative and world-class programming. This position is comprised of a combination of remote work, team conference calls and weekly meetings in Mississauga.

DUTIES

Four project contracts are available. Applicants may apply to one, two, three, or all four projects.

From May – August, Consultant will coordinate with and be supported by a small team of summer student positions:

BOLLYWOOD MONSTER MASHUP (Summer 2018)

● Consultant will contribute to the creation and execution of production schedules for special events and festival. Success will be measured through reports and determined by the following deliverables:

● Booking programming elements (artists, curators, KidZone staff etc) and suppliers (vendor tents, venue staff, catering etc) for festival event

● Communicating and delivering on-site logistical requirements (footprint, load-in/out times etc) in relation to cash funders’, media sponsors’, performing artists’ and community partner organizations’ needs

● Coordinating and ensuring both parties adhere to all contracts/agreements, including performing artists, vendors and community partner organizations.

MONSTER ROCK ORCHESTRA (Summer 2018)

● Consultant will contribute to the creation and execution of production schedules for festival. Success will be measured through reports and determined by the following deliverables:

● Booking programming elements (artists, community partners, MCs etc) and suppliers (tents, venue staff, security etc) for festival event

● Communicating and delivering on-site logistical requirements (footprint, load-in/out times etc) in relation to cash funders’, media sponsors’, performing artists’ and community partner organizations’ needs

● Coordinating and ensuring both parties adhere to all contracts/agreements, including performing artists and community partner organizations.

MONSTER ARTS FOR YOUTH (January – June 2018)

● Consultant will contribute to the coordination of workshop logistics in order to deliver program to schools. Success will be measured through reports and determined by the following deliverables:

● Booking requests for arts workshops (dance, poetry, film etc) in Peel Region schools

● Expanding artist roster and types of arts workshops to offer schools

● Ensuring funder and collaborator requirements in workshops are met

MONSTER ARTIST DEVELOPMENT

● Consultant will contribute to the coordination of schedules and logistics to deliver program. Success will be measured through reports and determined by the following deliverables:

● Expanding registered mentor and mentee performing artists for program

● Ensuring delivery from relevant suppliers (A/V crews, technical equipment, interviewers etc), in accordance with program

● Communicating and delivering logistical requirements (artists’ instrumental needs, schedules, gaps in community partners etc) of video shoots and workshops as applicable

● Coordinating and ensuring artists and community partners adhere to contracts/agreements

QUALIFICATIONS

● Degree or diploma in Arts and Culture Administration, Public Relations, Event Management, Non-Profit Management or a related field; and/or at least 2 years’ relevant experience

● Event coordination and/or project management experience an asset

● Proficiency in Google applications (Docs, Drive, etc) and Dropbox

● Excellent attention to detail, time management and initiative

● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

● Must be able to make team meetings, events and stakeholder meetings in the GTA and have access to own laptop and phone

● Valid G or G2 driver’s license and access to vehicle suggested, but not required

DETAILS

● Start date: On or around January 9, 2018

● Freelance contractor/consultant position

● Term: 9-month contract with opportunity for extension

● Compensation: Negotiable. Each of the four projects has their own budget. Applicants may apply to one, two, three or all four projects.
