Summer Student positions

  • DUTIES
    The PR & Marketing Assistant is responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager. Specific tasks include:

    – Engaging the community & tourism markets via traditional marketing (advertising, media releases, etc.)
    – Disseminating print marketing materials & promoting cultural/tourism events at relevant cultural nodes
    – Increasing our media release distribution list & relationships with media outlets
    – Tracking & providing feedback on all marketing activities
    – Marketing research
    – Supporting team members in activities necessary for the organization.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    – Attention to detail, time management, team player, self-starter
    – Demonstrable above average written and verbal communication skills
    – Must reside in the GTA and have access to own laptop or computer
    – Familiarity with spreadsheets, Dropbox, Hootsuite, Trello and Google Drive an asset

  • DUTIES

  • DUTIES
    The Graphic Design Assistant is responsible for supporting the Program Coordinator. Specific tasks include:

    – Creating & designing marketing materials for print & online (print ads, billboards, web banners, brochures, infographics, etc.)
    – Maintaining consistent branding across the organization, all it’s activities and all marketing collateral (step & repeats, website, banners, t­-shirts, etc.)
    – Creating and editing of Adobe Flash, animated GIFs and similar marketing assets for online and broadcast use
    – Supporting team members in activities necessary for the organization.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    – Demonstrable above average written and verbal communication skills
    – Must reside in the GTA and have access to own laptop or computer
    – Working knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)

    – Coordinating with suppliers, vendors, venue, security and logistics
    – Obtaining permits
    – Scheduling
    – Advancing tech riders with performers
    – Liaising with tech crews for A/V, staging, lighting

  • DUTIES
    The Web Developer is responsible for supporting the Program Coordinator. Specific tasks include:

    – Updating organization’s Wordpress websites while ensuring cross-browser, cross-platform, mobile compatibility and SEO
    – Website integration with Google docs and plug-ins
    – Automating common tasks / scripting
    – Coordinating with the marketing team on creating landing pages and other tracking tools
    – Supporting other team members in activities necessary for the organization.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    – Attention to detail, time management, team player, self-starter
    Demonstrable above average written and verbal communication skills
    – Must reside in the GTA and have access to own laptop or computer

  • DUTIES
    The Music Chartist / Engraver Assistant is responsible for supporting the Partnership Coordinator. Specific tasks include:
    – Creating conductor scores and parts using Sibelius as per organization’s engraving templates
    – Assisting with arrangements
    – Transcribing music from MIDI and by ear
    – Supporting other team members in activities necessary for the organization.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    – Proficient with Sibelius, ear-training
    – Knowledge of Pro Tools beneficial

  • The Video Editor is responsible for supporting the Program Coordinator. Specific tasks include:
    – Editing performance footage and interviews for use in TV spots, editorial video podcasts and social media
    – Adding motion graphics / titling for branding and storytelling
    – Capturing performance footage and interviews
    – Supporting other team members in activities necessary for the organization.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    – Proficient with video editing software (AfterEffects, Premiere, Final Cut and others)
    – Camera operation skills are an asset (if candidate owns personal camera, please indicate Make/Model)

Food Festival Coordinator

 MonstrARTity Creative Community (MCC) is currently seeking a Food Festival Coordinator for Bollywood Monster Mashup. This position is comprised of a combination of hours to be worked remotely, team conference calls, and status meetings in Mississauga.

  • Build and maintain vendor database and relationships with food vendors
  • Coordinate vendor intake and processing, including updating and managing contracts and vendor information packages, selecting vendors, securing vendor requirements, and ensuring mandatory municipal and regional permits and documentations are met
  • Coordinate with production team on site plan logistics, including load-in and load-out, vendor placements, stocking, and providing necessary access to water and power
  • Other duties to support the team as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in Arts and Culture Administration or Event and/or Festivals Management
  • Relevant experience working with food vendors in a festival setting
  • Proficiency in Google applications (Docs, Drive, etc) and Dropbox
  • Attention to detail, time management and initiative
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to make team meetings, events and stakeholder meetings in the GTA and have access to own laptop, phone and voice mail
  • Valid G or G2 driver’s license and access to vehicle suggested, but not required

DETAILS

  • Start date: Immediate or from March 13, 2017
  • Part time: 20-30 hours/week (flexible)
