#BollywoodMonster Mashup is orchestrated to please the senses of young and old alike and continues to expand year after year. Bringing to Mississauga another FREE event, the final day of this year’s festival offers something for everyone from all ages. Get ready to witness unbelievable performances by international Bollywood stars while at the same time chowing down on a variety of worldwide food. Don’t be afraid to break out those moves at our dance lessons, have a blast at our KidZone with both physical and crafty activities, treat yourself to some shopping, and more! Take part in Mississauga’s biggest party of the summer and bring out the whole family to join in on the FREE fun!

INTERNATIONAL STAR
  • Yasser Desai is a Bollywood singer from Mumbai, India with a charming personality and soulful voice. Over his illustrious career, he has sung more than 200 songs for various Bollywood movies, and he is the only singer to have 3 songs in the Mirchi Top 20 list. His song, “Itna Tumhe Chahna Hai,” from Machine was his first smash hit, followed up by many more, including “Pallo Latke” from the film Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. Yasser has also won Zee Cine Awards 2019 for Best Playback Singer – Male for his song “Naino Ne Baandhi” from the movie Gold.

    His performance at #BollywoodMonster Mashup 2019 will be his Canadian Debut

CANADIAN STARS
  • The #Bollywood Monster Orchestra is a high-powered combination of traditional Bollywood melodies and Western rock instruments. BMO is as old as #Bollywood Monster Mashup itself, and over the years, it has featured a variety of instruments from numerous cultural backgrounds. This year, the ensemble will perform Bollywood music alongside the Univox choir. Though BMO is constantly evolving, one thing stays the same from year to year, it’s guaranteed to knock your expectations out of the park!

    Sumana Gangulydey (Singer) – Her first love has always been music. She was musically trained by a well-known Indian Hindustani classical singer Pandit Arun Kumar Bhaduri of Sangeet research academy of Calcutta. She also won Swarvihar music competition in the year of 2006 and Panorama Indian Idol contest in 2013.

    Pratik Peters (Singer) – A singer, musician, composer, music producer, with ability to sing in multiple languages and from various genres. His hardwork and dedication had given him great opportunities to work with Bollywood music producers Salim-Sulaiman and Vishal-Shekhar.

    Richard Uglow (Keyboard) – Richard Uglow is a versatile keyboard player. He plays Jazz with his wife Jasmin Bailey, and has played Ethiopian, RnB, Afro Jazz, Iranian, and of course, #BollywoodMonster Mashup!

    Al Webster (Percussion) – Al Webster is a Freelance drummer who has worked with the likes of: Colin James, Amanda Marshall, Jeff Healey and David Wilcox. He’s excited to be working with us on #BollywoodMonster Mashup!

    Sam Deeth (Guitar) – Sam is a guitarist from London, ON, with pop, ambient and rock stylings. He is the lead guitarist of hard rock/metal/punk fusion band Nameless Friends, and plays in as many musical theatre productions as he can. Sam lives in London, Ontario with his guitars.

    El Blanco (Percussion) – El Blanco is a producer/drummer/guitarist/music instructor who has performed for over 30 years playing jazz, rock, pop, electronica and world music. El Blanco’s music is a mix of Reggae and hip hop inspired electronica with Latin and afro music grooves.

    Eran Foster (Guitar) – Hailing from Parry Sound, Ontario, Eran is currently studying double bass at Western University. A versatile musician, he has performed with pit bands, orchestras, and R&B, rap, rock, and pop groups.

  • Univox is a mixed-voice community choir for young adults. It serves the community by offering spirited performances of choral music, both old and new. Performed works are primarily a cappella and span a wide range of the choral spectrum; Renaissance madrigals and motets, choral classics, modern composition, spirituals, and international folk songs.

  • Talented, energetic, passionate and diverse are just some of the many words that describe The Band Destiny (TBD). TBD is a West Indian Crossover band that was formed in 2007. They are the three time winners of the CMEA award for Top Soca Band in Canada. Currently the members include; Stephen Nanan (Founder/Keyboardist), Curtis B (Vocalist), Kiran Dindial (Drummer), Kamela Singh (Keyboardist/Vocalist), Vijai Ramdath (Engineer), Celine Nanan (Rhythm & Machines), Darren Armoogam (Guitarist/Vocalist) and Logun (Vocalist). Together they makeup The Band Destiny, creating a fusion of music that incorporates Soca, Reggae, R&B, Chutney and Hindi Remixes.

  • The SHIAMAK Dance Team comprises of 80 – 90 members, consisting of instructors, as well as students from the Special Potential batch (SPB), Advanced Training Program (ATP) and Show Kids.

  • Started music at the age of 12. Performed all across North America and parts of Europe and South America. Performed on stages such as: Desifest, iifa buzz, and Bollywood monstermashup. Nick has also Performed along side Bollywood playback singers: Chinmayi (film Guru), Shankar mahadevan, Rajdeep chaterjee. Nick has also received an award in vocal excellence by Shree Pandit Jasraj.

  • Ankita is a Mississauga-based singer and performer with a wide portfolio in live concerts. Her genre ranges from pop-rock to Bollywood, and is focusing on stepping into the mainstream South-Asian music scene with her line-up or original productions, soon to be released this year.

  • City Centre Dance is Mississauga’s Hottest Drop-In Dance Studio. Located in central Mississauga offering dance classes in styles such as Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Jazz-Funk, Bollywood, Reggaeton, Dancehall, and more from Beginner to Advanced Levels.

  • Desi Muziko is a music band of industry’s leading singers and best musicians offering desi music all over North America. The members have performed in various countries like India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Kenya, Italy and many more.

  • Ria is a professional dancer and teacher working in the arts for over 10 years and has trained in Bharatanatyam, Bollywood, Ballet, Hip Hop and House. Ria is a part-time faculty member at Centennial College where she teaches Indian dance, as well as a lead educator for Moving EDGEucation. Ria’s passion for urban and Indian dance has inspired her to choreograph and perform Bollywood fusion pieces across the province. This year at Bollywood Monster Mashup, Ria will be leading a dance workshop for the entire audience! Get up and move with Ria!

CANADIAN STAR
  • Randy Persaud is a prolific character in Peel Region who champions many events throughout his community. Charged as the cities’ Hypemachine, Randy is one of the most sought after hosts, announcers and community producers in city.

    He has worked with high profile CBC productions such as Hockey Night in Canada, The Olympic Summer and Winter Games, Dragons Den, Rick Mercer and many more.

    In 2016, Randy won the Creative Community award by the Mississauga Arts Council at the MARTY Awards for his work in the community. His award was recognized by the Honourable MP Iqra Khalid in the House of Commons.
