1) #BollywoodMonster Mashup, the largest South Asian festival in Canada. Rated the #1 festival at Celebration Square by the City of Mississauga in 2019 and winner of the 2019 MARTY award for the Festival of the Year by the Mississauga Arts Council;
2) #MonsterArts for Youth, which provides children of all backgrounds hands-on workshops in Bollywood and Bhangra dance, Hindi music, Ghazal writing, mandala-making, filmmaking, and more. led by professional artists to break cultural silos and fill gaps as part of a culturally relevant curriculum;
3) #MonsterArts for Seniors, which provides the elderly with stimulating, professionally-led arts workshops in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil and more to reduce feelings of isolation;
4) #MonsterArts for Survivors, which provides diverse women in shelters with professionally-led South Asian arts workshops as a vehicle for self-expression and building supportive networks;
5) #MonsterArtist Development, which provides diverse artists entrepreneurship and social media mentorship via its collective members.
Born in 2011, MonstrARTity is an award-winning, Mississauga-based incorporated not-for-profit arts organization, amplifying South Asian arts in diverse communities via festivals, interactive workshops for youth & seniors, artist mentorship and youth employment programs.

DUTIES
This freelance consultant contract (with opportunity for renewal) consists of corporate sponsor and agency relationships work related to the programs. This position supports all relevant activities of the functional groups: programming, marketing, fundraising and HR. Duties include:
- Developing and executing organization’s sponsorship and earned revenues strategy, in order to convert target sponsors and earned revenues clients for each program
- Creating, allocating and communicating sponsorship benefits for different sponsor levels, in order to brand all elements of each program
- Liaising with internal functional teams to proactively assess potential gaps in funding for planned programming or marketing activities
- Building a database and maintaining relationships with corporate sponsors, marketing agencies and earned revenue targets, in order to create a diverse sales funnel
- Recommending improvements to pitch materials (sponsor decks, direct emails, online content, videos etc) based on data, in order to increase sponsor and earned revenues target conversions
- Justifying proposed tactics with target and industry insights, and measuring sponsor satisfaction in order to inform future strategies
- Measuring and demonstrating ROI to sponsors through regular communication and final reports
- Documenting sponsorship and earned revenues processes, test results and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years of demonstrable track record in Fundraising Management, Sales, agencies or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and ability to self-manage and problem-solve

DUTIES
This freelance consultant contract runs from April – Aug 2021 and is comprised of stage management, event production, and artist relations work related to the #StayHome with #BollywoodMonster Mashup program. This position supports relevant activities of the programming team.
- Contributing to the creation and execution of stage plots, tech run sheets, backline orders, show run schedules, performer tech advancing and other relevant planning documents for #BollywoodMonster Mashup virtual festival events
- Communicating and delivering on-site logistical requirements (footprint, technical requirements, suppliers, load-in/out times etc) in relation to performing artists’ and groups’ needs
- Supporting and ensuring smooth coordination and execution of #BollywoodMonster Mashup festival stage logistics, including backstage support, performer tech runs, sound checks and performances
- Managing communication processes and ensuring both parties adhere to all contracts/agreements, in regards to performing artists for organization’s festival production days
- Liaising with performing artists, audio/visual tech crews, venue coordinators and other external program contacts as necessary

The PR & Marketing Support is responsible for supporting the Marketing Team. Specific tasks include:
- Engaging relevant local and non-local target markets for all programs via traditional marketing (advertising, media releases, online event listings, etc.)
- Drafting promotional content like media releases, event descriptions etc., distributing media releases, following up with media outlets to secure editorial coverage
- Building our media release distribution list and cultivating relationships with media outlets to schedule artist interviews

The Market Research Support is responsible for supporting the Marketing Team. Specific tasks include:
- Researching relevant local and non-local target markets for all programs
- Analyzing past participant survey data and consumer behaviour
- Supporting and guiding marketing team decisions through ongoing analyses of website analytics, social media campaign metrics, etc.
- Evaluating ROI analyses for marketing campaigns and programming decisions and recommending changes based on data
- Conducting audience surveys and compiling results for recommendations on local and tourism program engagement, media preferences and visitor spending
- Creating reports and visuals to summarize data for funding purposes

QUALIFICATIONS

The Graphic Design Support is responsible for supporting the Marketing Team. Specific tasks include:
- Creating and updating templated marketing materials for print and online (print ads, billboards, web banners, brochures, infographics, etc.)
- Maintaining consistent branding across the organization, all its activities and all marketing collateral (step and repeats, websites, banners, T-shirts, etc.)
- Coordinating with printing & merchandising vendors to get assets printed & delivered

The Analyst Support is responsible for supporting the Management Team. Specific tasks include:
- Utilizing data manipulation and pivot tables to integrate data from different sources, analyze data and create dashboards
- Developing new forms, spreadsheets, and templates to automate tasks normally done by staff
- Identifying processes which could be automated and developing efficient methods to accomplish these various goals (ie. auto-transferring and organizing information between Google Forms and Google Sheets using Google Scripts)

The Animation & Motion Graphics Support is responsible for supporting the Production Team. Specific tasks include:
- Creating 2D motion graphics, lower thirds, and typography animations compliant with organization’s branding guidelines for use in social media videos and broadcast TV
- Providing design and production support to organization’s video editing team

- Coordinating with artists in regards to contracts and logistics (e.g. tech requirements, costumes, arrival times) for studio shoot days
- Helping draft & refine production schedules for studio shoot days
- Supervising the filming of a festival broadcast and participatory workshops to ensure adequate lighting, sound & camera angles

- Coordinating with artists & participants in regards to workshop scheduling for MonstrARTity’s three #MonsterArts community programs
- Recruiting, vetting & training volunteers
- Managing an inventory of assets such as technical equipment and art supplies, and coordinating distribution among workshop leaders & participants
- Outreach to relevant community organizations for co-curation and long-term relationships
- Liaising with local businesses and assisting with vendor & sponsor research

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education or experience in nonprofit and voluntary sector management, volunteer management, arts administration or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations such as seniors or survivors of domestic abuse an asset

DUTIES
The Music Engraver Support is responsible for supporting the Programming Team. Specific tasks include:
- Creating conductor scores and parts using Sibelius as per the organization’s engraving rules & standards
- Transcribing music by ear to help create arrangements of Bollywood and fusion pieces
- Coordinating session musicians for the organization’s festival and arts programs
- Assisting with conducting rehearsals and soundchecks
- Additional supporting activities to benefit the overall team as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education or experience in music theory and arranging preferred
- Proficient with Sibelius
- Exceptional ear-training skills
- Knowledge of Pro Tools beneficial
- Excellent attention to detail, time management skills, team player, self-starter
- Demonstrable above-average written and verbal communication skills
- Must reside in the GTA and have access to own laptop or computer
- Familiarity with Google Sheets, Dropbox and Google Drive an asset
POSITION ELIGIBILITY
Individuals must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and,
