DUTIES
This freelance consultant contract (with opportunity for renewal) consists of digital and social media work related to the programs. This position supports all relevant activities of the functional groups: programming, marketing, fundraising and HR. Duties include:
- Developing and executing organization’s promotional strategy across multiple digital platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google Adwords, Google Display etc), in order to convert organization’s target markets
- Increasing domain authority for organization and program websites via linked open data and search engine optimization
- Justifying proposed tactics with analytics and survey data from past events and campaigns, and analyzing campaign execution data to inform future strategies
- Managing local, provincial and national algorithmic budgets according to funding and grant restrictions, including spends on websites and other necessary digital assets or tools to maximize ROI
- Recommending improvements to content (social media posts, website text, advertising, media releases, blogs etc) based on A/B testing, in order to increase target market conversions
- Measuring the reach, engagement and conversions of target markets with funders and key stakeholders, in order to demonstrate objective value in supporting organization’s programs
- Leading a small team of seasonal marketing positions during the 4-month summer festival season
- Additional supporting activities to benefit the overall team as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least two years of demonstrable track record in Digital Media, Social Media, Search Engine Optimization, Digital Analytics or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and ability to self-manage and problem-solve
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and initiative
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with SEO, digital advertising buys, Facebook Business, Google Analytics, Google Adwords, WordPress and linked open data sources strongly preferred
- Degree, diploma or certification in Digital Media, Social Media, Search Engine Optimization, Digital Analytics or a related field an asset
- Familiarity with Monday.com and Google applications (Drive, Sheets etc) an asset
DETAILS
- Term: Jan 2021 – Dec 2021. Opportunity for extension can be considered
- Earliest start date: January 18, 2021

- Compensation: $18-30/hour, negotiated based on experience and time commitment.
- Please note the compensation range is for frame of reference purposes only, as this freelance contractor position is not paid by the hour
- Must be able to make mandatory weekly team calls (Tuesdays), team meetings in Mississauga and stakeholder meetings in the Greater Toronto Area as required*
- *Meetings are currently being conducted virtually due to COVID-19. This will be modified according to provincial and Peel Public Health guidelines
- Must have access to own laptop and phone
