Executive & Artistic Director
Vikas is the mastermind behind all things MonstrARTity. He’s constantly pushing the envelope and his creative ideas keep us on our toes. As an award-winning film composer and music producer, he’s known for fusing together genres as varied as punk, hip-hop and Bollywood. Vikas sits on the Mayor’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee for the City of Mississauga, Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund Board of Directors; And has been profiled on ET Canada, CBC The National, The Globe & Mail, The Hindustan Times and Zee News.
Lauren has a degree in Media Studies and a diploma in Public Relations. She has an excellent memory for birthdays and is the personal calendar for all her friends, so it’s only fitting that she’s our go-to for project management. On top of keeping us organized, Lauren brightens up our meetings with her love of sparkly things and frequent “yay”-saying. Her appreciation for the arts includes a love of all things dance, including her former days as a competitive tap dancer.
PR & Marketing
Filip has a diploma in Marketing from Georgian College and a degree in Communications from Laurentian University. He is known for the most enthusiastic high-fives around and his record is 350 in 26 days. As our main videographer, Filip creates and curates the image of MonstrARTity with amazing visuals. His favourite part about being a videographer is interviewing other passionate creators. He’s lucky enough to have interviewed prominent CEOs, famous musicians, mayors, and celebrities internationally.
Executive & Artistic Director
Vidhi is the queen behind all things PR and Marketing at MonstrARTity. She is very knowledgeable in the industry, as she holds an MBA degree with a specialization in marketing. Vidhi has the experience to back her as well, as she has worked over 9 years on a variety of campaigns for numerous iconic Indian shows including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Dance India Dance, and the Zee Cine awards. When she’s away from work, Vidhi is a huge content junkie, as she watches everything that moves and talks such as movies, television, theatre, Broadway and stand-up comedy. Vidhi also enjoys travelling, having visited 20 different countries around the world.
PR & Marketing
Iryna shares love for numbers, an addiction to the digital world and a passion for music thanks to her accounting background, UofT Certificate in Digital Marketing Management and 10 years of musical school in piano. She is a huge tea drinker and a Zumba fan. Outside of work, she loves jogging, exploring the world and learning how to play the flute.
Coming from a traditional East Asian dance background, Cindy studied Communication and Culture at York University, specializing in politics and policy. She became an arts administrator in 2008 to provide a stronger voice for culturally specific arts organizations. Outside of the office and off stage, Cindy enjoys exploring new dance forms and their communities. Cindy loves travelling and going on adventures, some of which have included driving solo in the Middle East, almost losing her way in the middle of the Mauritian rainforest, and taking out someone’s side view mirror. She relaxes by doing aerial yoga and dangling upside down like a bat.
Heine is a Danish native living in Toronto after completeting his MA in Musicology & Audio Branding from Aarhus University in Denmark. He was the Head of Event at Denmark’s largest TEDx-event, and worked on the European Capital of Culture in 2017. He is on board various projects worldwide connecting music, people, and brands. He loves living in the most multicultural city in the world, and is excited to create great inspirational musical experiences for everybody. He also enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, and listening to music of all genres.
Stephanie has come to MonstrARTity with over 10 years of experience in event planning and community relations. After graduating from Leisure and Recreations studies at the University of Ottawa, and Sports Management at Ithaca College, Stephanie worked on corporate and sports events across Canada. In her spare time, she enjoys ultimate frisbee, pub trivia, country music, the Blue Jays, and all things sports related.
Sanjay is the epitome of Bollywood lover. After graduating with an HBA in Performance Production from Ryerson University, Sanjay worked with the City of Mississauga Culture technical services for 7 years, working on every cultural festival with the city at Celebration Square. He loves music and is a positive personality that you definitely want on your side for any technical production; we’re lucky to have him!
PR & Marketing Assistant
Vanshika loves storytelling, and the way stories bring people together. As a Masters of Professional Communication student at Ryerson University, she is focusing on public relations, and is excited to be back at MonstrARTity this summer in PR & Marketing. During long commutes, Vanshika is an avid podcast listener. She also loves to talk about musical theatre, slam poetry, and the latest hit tv show on Netflix.
PR & Marketing Assistant
Lucas makes sure you know what’s happening over at MonstrARTity by giving you the latest updates on our social media. Having graduated with honours obtaining a degree in Media Studies and a diploma in Media Business at the University of Guelph-Humber, Lucas is looking forward to his second summer with MonstrARTity and backpack camping this summer. He is also a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs plan, having travelled to eight different cities to watch them play.
Novaya grew up in Bangladesh, which is where her lifelong appreciation for South Asian culture began. She is currently studying Architectural Design at Carleton University, and is passionate about arts and design advocacy. Having been a part of several exhibitions and having held productions of her own in the past, she is excited to bring her design experience to MonstrARTity this summer. She also enjoys painting, travelling, and photography.
Maher is dedicated to improving and increasing his artistic creativity, which is why he is so excited to join MonstrARTity this summer on the videography team. He enjoys problem solving and approaching situations from different perspectives.
Like your stereotypical media kid, Jonathan possesses an upbeat positive personality that carries throughout the room. He has graduated at the top of his class on two separate occasions, once for Media Foundations, and the other for Film and Television Production. Besides video production, Jonathan is also passionate about photography, more specifically portraiture. Previously to switching his focus to media, Jonathan received an Urban Planning Degree from Ryerson University.
Aiden thought he wanted to be an engineering student before he made the switch to fine arts in the twelfth grade, and he hasn’t looked back since. He is a Design student in Montreal at Concordia University, and a self proclaimed music nerd and audiophile with an unhealthy vinyl record collection.
The genius behind MonstrARTity’s online websites, Connor comes from a background in the military. Having said that, Connor has always put school as a top priority, and is currently studying Software Engineering at York University. His dedication to the program earned him the Lassonde Scholarship, which entails creativity, passion, and confidence in all aspects of his life including both academics and extracurricular’s. Connor was also a student advocate as a VP at his school’s engineering society, as well as a peer tutor.
Born and raised in Mississauga, Methila is currently a Kinesiology Student at McMaster University. Methila prides herself on keeping healthy and helping to motivate others to be the best versions of themselves. Having accumulated over 1000 community service hours, Methila is excited to bring her volunteer experience and passion for giving back to the community to MonstrARTity.
From being an artist and performer that has toured across the country to interning for a major artist management company, Ryan’s life revolves around all things music. Originally from Vancouver, Ryan has a deep passion for helping artists realize their creative vision. As a performer himself, he understands the individual needs of artists and strives to help fulfil their goals in any way he can! Outside of music, Ryan has received a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, specializing in Marketing. He also enjoys reading, DC comics, and soccer.
Brenda is a true London, Ontario native, having been born and raised there, as well as attending post-secondary at Western University for Music Composition and Computer Science. She has a tremendous music IQ, which landed her the role as a music engraver assistant at MonstrARTity. Brenda loves everything that is considered ‘nerdy’ and ‘artsy’, most notably fan-fiction, cosplay and covering video game songs. Something high on her bucket list is to own at least one parrot and to teach it to sing harmony side by side with her. Now that’s unique!
Emily is excited to be returning to MonstrARTity for her third summer. Our resident musical genius is going into fourth year at University of Toronto, studying Music Education, and hopes to become a choral conductor and arranger. In her spare time, she enjoys writing original songs and caring for her hermit crabs.
